Nantes, on the banks of the river Loire, has an ideal geographical position that has made it become a city of exchange and business, always open to Europe and to everyone. Located between the land and the water, nowadays it is still a city in constant evolution in which the culture is the star of the show. The castle of Château des ducs de Bretagne reminds us that, once, Nantes was historically the capital city of Brittany. The Mosse quay makes us think back to the 18th Century.

Nantes possesses a palace of priceless beauty and value, which in its time belonged to Anne, Duchess of Brittany. The contrast between the drawbridge, the impressive city walls and the Renaissance buildings is striking and deserving of special attention are the Le Grand Logis performance and events hall and le Grand Gouvernement. Right next to the Château des ducs de Bretagne castle is the Bouffay area and Hotel Duquesne.

You cannot leave Nantes without visiting the Jules Verne Museum, which will take you deep into the fantastic stories of the novels of this well-known author. It is located in a 19th Century house which is fascinating for all who visit it, above all due to the figure of the learned man presented by duplicates of his works, his writings and his old movie posters.

Passage Pommeraye, considered one of the most beautiful and special covered galleries in Nantes, is very characteristic of the city and dates back to the 19th Century. If you attentively look at it, you will understand why: its three floors with stone windows and columns confer its old setting. Despite its structure, it is a very dynamic place. Just a few metres away, next to the beautiful Théâtre Graslin opera house, is the mythical Brasserie La Cigale with its popular mosaics. Don’t forget to visit it during your stay in Nantes!

Pedal around the city and discover all its beauty: on your bike, seeing the sights will be a double pleasure. Feel like trying it?
